On the Side

AusPerformance

I founded AusPerformance primarily as a means to source cheaper parts for my heart and soul – my Nissan 200SX S15. I started off by contacting performance wholesalers in Brisbane and organising trade accounts, and began importing Innovate Motorsports products direct from the manufacturer in the USA (only 2 suppliers of these products in Australia, clear ).

  • Exposure to MYOB Accounting software and account keeping
  • Lodgement of BAS statements and other relevant forms/documentation
  • Website and stationary design, including advertising materials
  • Purchasing and inventory of stock, from local and overseas suppliers
  • Negotiation of trade accounts and discounts from suppliers
  • Joomla + VirtueMart setup and modifications

Cruising Brisbane

I originally started using the CruisingBrisbane.com forum as a general member, but through a number of innovations and suggestions made to previous owners of the site, I was promoted to an Administrative member, and now, through a number of changes of ownership, I am a part owner of the website. I primarily look after the “technical” side of things, aka, server maintenance, programming, web design etc, as well as the financials behind the site. This includes managing our sponsorship contracts, primarily an advertising program for interested parties.

  • Invision Power Board (IPB) installation/upgrade and customisation
  • Heavy use of custom PHP/MySQL pages interfacing with IPB data
  • Close to 9000 members, including ~10 moderator staff

Ashley Knowles Web Design

Occasionally, I have friends and family requesting websites to be created. This all falls under Ashley Knowles Web Design (AKWD).
